I grew up in Memphis, TN until the age of 12 when our family moved to Southaven, MS. As a young child, there were some bad influences in the neighborhoods I lived in and I went to school in a poor environment. The combination of these two situations led me to do things that I certainly should not have been doing as a pre-teen. Worse yet, I was ashamed of these things and hid them from most everyone.

My mother made sure that my brother, sister, and I were in church at Broadway every time the doors were open. I knew all the memory verses and Bible stories and felt like I was a good kid because of attending church. When I was 9 years old, I was attending a special service at our church when the preacher began to discuss that Hell was a real place that people without Christ would spend eternity. He went on to explain that Jesus Christ had come to Earth and lived a sinless life, was crucified, buried, and raised again on the third day. Jesus did this so that sinners would be saved and have access to God the Father. On that night, I confessed to God that I was a sinner and needed salvation. I believed that Jesus had come and done these things for me and I was saved.

There was a great change in my life and I began to tell everyone what had happened to me. As time went by, bad influences and distractions began to pull me away from my new found love for Jesus. I began to live for me and did whatever I wanted. I continued to attend church, but for all the wrong reasons.

While in the youth group at Broadway, I met my wife. We dated for 5 years through high school and college. We married and started a family all the while attending church but living however we pleased. In 2009, through another special set of services at church, I realized that as a Christian I must live according to God's plan for my life. I asked God to forgive me for being selfish and living for myself and He forgave me and gave me a fresh start.

God, through circumstances made possible only by Him, led me to be the Worship Minister at Broadway Church…the church I was raised in!!! To God be the glory! Great things He has done!!!!
