I grew up in the hickory hill part of Memphis, TN and graduated from Kirby high school. My upbringing consisted of my Dad, Mom, brother and I. We grew up in a typical middle class home, where we were taught how to work hard and live devoted to God and family. As a teenager, I enjoyed anything outdoors especially football, basketball, and golf so, like a lot of teens, I spent much time involved in sports.

I attended Hickory Ridge Baptist Church growing up. During this time, the most important event in my life occurred. In November 1988, I began to realize, I needed to ask Jesus to be Lord, Savior, and King of my life. I shared with my Mom about these spiritual questions, and that's when she shared her salvation story with me. The next Sunday, I went to my pastor during the invitation and prayed to receive Jesus, believing he died on the cross and rose on the third day for me!

That moment I realized it wasn't about being religious that saved me but instead a personal relationship with Jesus. Since that day in November 1988, I've been on a lifelong journey. Early on as a believer, I struggled with profanity and a defiant streak but during high school, God showed me that I wasn't living for Him. That summer at youth camp, God put my focus back on Jesus. Since then, life hasn't always been easy, struggles have come, but God's word and the Holy Spirit has been my guide.

I married my beautiful wife and best friend (whom I met at a Barbecue joint…) Shannon in 2003. We have five kids,(Emily, Adah, Autumn, Jackson, and Jagger).

I came on staff at Broadway in April of 2005, and have been in youth ministry since 2000.

I graduated from Liberty University with a Bachelor's degree in Religion. I am currently pursuing a Master's degree in Christian Ministry at Liberty University.
