Advent: December 25

Theme:

Jesus

Symbol:

The Greek symbol of Jesus Christ

Read

Luke 2:1-7 (Philippians 2:5-11)

Ask:

  • Why did Mary and Joseph go to Bethlehem? (To register for the census)

  • Who is Joseph related to? (David) Why is this important? (The Messiah was foretold to be from David’s line)

  • What was unique about Jesus’ birth? (He was born, wrapped in swaddling clothes and laid in a manger) How would you expect the Son of God to enter the world? (With pomp and circumstance) What does this tell us about Jesus? (He is humble and identifies with us)

  • What has been your favorite advent story? Why? What have you learned about Jesus?

Sing:

Silent Night

Pray:

Jesus, thank You for coming to earth over 2,000 years ago as a humble baby to save us from our sins. Help us to never be too busy or our lives too full to not have room for You. May You be our everything. We love and adore You. Amen.
